Holly-Hunter

Holly Hunter was an American actor who was famous in the film Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles. The actress won numerous awards, including an Oscar for the film Piano. In her early years her acclaimed actress started playing on stage for various Broadway or Off-Broadway productions. She is a lover of acting since she was in high school. The first time she appeared in a play in fifth grade was in Helen Keller. She became deaf in one ear following a bout of the mumps virus, however she did not allow this handicap to hinder her determination to become an actress. At college, she was a theatre student as well as later moving from Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania, to New York City in pursuit of her goal. She ran into Beth Henley in an elevator and the pair collaborated to make Broadway Crimes of the Heart which was Hunter's debut film. After she was settled in Los Angeles, she began to look for film roles. Her first film role was as an actress who played the lead character of Swing Shift. Her career spans more than 30 years, and she's been featured in numerous TV shows, films and series. Holly Hunter was awarded a Hollywood Walk of Fame Star as well as the Women in Film Lucy Award.
